Panasonic AG-1970P Pro-Line Editing S-VHS *As-IS, For parts / Repair*.
This is being sold as-is. Someone with some know-how on this VCRs can likely get this going. My guess is it's needs some lubrication, maybe some capacitors replaced, gears inspected and maybe replaced, and just a general look over.
Here are the symptoms of this VCR:
It will typically play a tape for 3-seconds, puts out a distorted image during this time, then the tape stops playing. The image you see in the listing's photos of the output is the distorted image of color bars. Note that the heads were thoroughly cleaned in this deck and it's still putting out a distorted image. I'm wondering if the capacitors need a look over, and/or the video head needs repair or replacement.
There is an unusual sound the moment a tape is spooled. It may be the pinch roller needing some lubrication but I am not positive of the exact source of the sound. It is constant as long as a tape is spooled, and a tape is played.
All controls seem to work. Note that this VCR doesn't always stop playback after 3-seconds, but it often does, so when this was not an issue I was able to test fast forward, rewind, pause, play and the jog wheel.
There are scratches on the case but nothing is cracked on the casing and it's generally in good order and clean.
