Scrapbook for Army military service from 1945 era in post-World War II Far East. Photos and other items from South Korea, Okinawa, and Japan. Over 100 photos of military science and local area.
This is a journal of a young man from PA who starts in Texas then on to California and on to be stationed in the Far East. There are several postcard and travel brochures from San Francisco and Hollywood from 1945.
Also included are several military newspapers including Star & Stripes and the Infantry Division entitled Hour Glass. Also there are 10Yen Bank of Korea notes included.
During his service it appears he was a member of the Seven Infantry Division which was deployed to South Korea after WWI and assigned to guard the 38
th
Parallel prior to the start of the Korean War.
