    Description

    The original X-3684-123-1 Gear Assembly is composed of a spur and worm gear that are press fit together with the two posts being plastic welded after fit. This kit is designed to replace the spur gear portion that can often break a tooth or a portion of teeth as shown in the pictures. The gear assembly can be separated into the two pieces with the help of a small flat bladed screwdriver. Once the worm gear portion has been removed simply press the original worm gear portion onto the new spur gear portion and the repair is complete. This is a press fit so it will require just a little force to join the two pieces together.
    A dab of super glue over the two posts is recommended but not required to simulate the original plastic weld. This is just to ensure the pieces remain together over the service life of the Betamax. Lastly, a good quality plastic safe grease is recommended for application on the new gear(I.E Super Lube Synthetic Grease).
    Gear will fit Sony Betamax machines using the 711B2 Chassis (I.E. SL-HFR30S, SL-HF300, SL-HF450, SL-HF600, SL-HF900, SL-F30, SL-F60, SL-800ME and others).
